Montrose Hideaway Bed-and-Breakfast Retreat was founded by Greg and Mary McNair in 2004 and is in Montrose, Ala., located between the cities of Daphne and Fairhope in the center of Mobile Bay's popular Eastern Shore area. The inn provides a unique setting that is perfect for those who are wanting to "hide away" and "retreat," complete with personal service from the McNairs. The expansive grounds provide a feeling of being in the middle of nowhere, but guests are actually convenient to so much to see and do, whether special events or exploring the area's shopping, golfing, restaurants, beaches or historic sites. The inn sits at the top of a rise looking down over the spring-fed pond and offers casual elegance throughout. You will instantly know that you have arrived someplace special while also feeling at home. Looking for that perfect place to hold a business retreat, family reunion or wedding? The inn offers the privacy and tranquil setting that can only enhance your special event. And even if not holding the event at the inn, you might still want to book all the rooms to house your guests, offering a relaxed alternative to a collection of hotel or motel rooms that don't offer any common gathering areas. Plus all inn guests are pampered with a brunch-style candlelight breakfast in the dining room, where they can enjoy great conversation with fellow inn guests and the McNairs. Freshly prepared refreshments are also provided each afternoon.
Do you prefer traveling during the week? Are you a bargain hunter? Our weekday rates are less than on the weekends or during special events and holidays, plus we offer discounts when you stay several nights. So come during the week and let your traveling dollars go farther! (We also offer discounts for active military anytime!)
"Through our commitment, experience and expertise, Montrose Hideaway Bed-and-Breakfast Retreat seeks to establish a personal relationship with our customers that will last a lifetime and have them wanting to come back again and again," say the McNairs. And according to Coastal Living magazine, those goals are being met, as the inn was selected by the magazine as one of only 15 inns for its 2006 annual list of favorites. Click here to read what was written about this unique inn. Excellence is also the reason this special inn is one of only two Select Registry member inns in all of Alabama, and the only one along the Gulf Coast between New Orleans and Central Florida. We are also featured as the place to stay in the Mobile Bay area on The American Lifestyle Network online newsletter. Click here to view a video interview of the McNairs. Greg and Mary are also both ServSafe certified through the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. This means that we take seriously our commitment to handle food in a safe and responsible manner. We are so dedicated to excellence in this area that we completed the certification process in 2006 even though we were not required to do so until 2010.
In addition to receiving lots of attention from Greg and Mary, you will be greeted and entertained by the newest members of the Montrose Hideaway family, Monty and Hidey. Monty, the white cat, is the calmer of the two, but he loves to play with Hidey, the tortoiseshell, with each taking turns being the instigator. Both of them love to give and receive attention, so cat lovers should feel right at home. Montrose Hideaway Bed-and-Breakfast Retreat is located in the middle of a beautiful resort area, Montrose, also known in French as Ecor Rouge, that sits at an elevation of 278 feet above sea level and has red-clay bluffs along Mobile Bay's Eastern Shore. This is the highest point on America's coastline between Mexico and Maine. We are about 14 miles from the historic city of Mobile, which now hosts Carnival Cruise Lines' Holiday. We are immediately next to the city limits of Daphne, only four miles from downtown Fairhope, 10 miles from the Eastern Shore Centre in Spanish Fort/Malbis, 20 miles from the Tanger Outlet Mall in Foley, about 30 miles from Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, and about 45 miles from Pensacola, Fla.
